A great game today at Bear Park, both Bears and Pilks applied pressure early on and went 10 mins without conceding!

Bears opened the scoring first of all after a great kick across the goal line from Tom, the ball was grounded just to the side of the sticks by Caiden, Jake added the extras.

Pilks marched straight back down the field for a converted try of their own. Some more good rugby followed and some big runs from the forwards, but it was Aaron who made a break down the wing to score in the corner, successful conversion from Tom. Again pilks had an answer to it, scoring from the restart taking the game to the break at 12-12.

The second half started in much the same fashion as the first, with some great running, and some great defence. Again it was bears who struck first, a great run by Levi from our own 10 yard line and a quick play the ball for Emrys to scoot and get us within 20 yards and Caiden to pick it up and scoot towards the corner for a great team try. Cooper added the extras. Pilks scored next as Ashtons defence struggled on the restarts, but Pilks missed the kick. Pilks then scored again, taking the lead for the first time, another missed conversion attempt taking the score to 18-20. Ashton had some good pressure now with disallowed tries for Seb, Emrys, Caiden who were all deemed to be held up in goal. Levi also crossed but was deemed to have knocked on.

This gave the Bears the added determination they needed and they had a spell of defence on their opponents try line, forcing a knock on, and then a kick on the second. Caiden recovered the ball on half way. Cooper stepped up and took a drive in, for Levi to take the next and run 40 meters in to score on the last play of the game.
